Ok, Sorry this has taken so long, but after John gave me a nudge (i.e.: someone actually bothered to look at this blog!!), I have decided to post at least something. Maybe not the world media style reviews I was planning, but something anyway.
I have decided to use a ratings system but don't take it too seriously.
And I'll try to rate them respective of their kind.
I.e.: If I watch a chick-flick (there won't be many of them, if any, i promise), I'll keep it in mind and rate it in comparison to other chick-flicks.

Before I get started though, here's a list of the movies in my collection if you wanna know the kind of movies i like:

1. Amelie (2001) [ 7 / 10]

I rented this after seeing it in the IMDb Top 100 movies of all time and a few friends said it was very good.
I quite liked the story and the characters were fantastic, very quirky and funny.
Not what I'd put in the Top 100 movies of all time but hey, a very enjoyable movie all the same.

2. Blade Runner (1982) [ 8 / 10 ]

I had wanted to see this for a long time but never got a chance to see it.
I enjoyed it alot.
Harrison Ford & Rutger Hauer were on top form as always, the whole film looked fantastic, the action was really enjoyable without being too "high-octane".
A classic film still with the fantastic film-making of the 70's running through it.
In other words, how a film should be made.
Really, this film couldn't have been made any better.
I can only fear a modern re-make to speed up the action and replace Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer & Sean Young with younger, talenless piece of crap.

3. Close Encounters Of A Third Kind (1977) [ 6 / 10]

Another film I had wanted to see for a long time.
I have to admit, despite being a big movie fan, Stephen Spielberg isn't one of my favourite directors, although I could listen to him all day talking about his interest in movies.
He's one of the very few directors I've seen talking about movies that seems to have a huge personal interest and love for movies and always give great interviews. But his films often don't work out for me. I'll give a quick list of the movies of his that i've liked and disliked.
Liked: Jaws, The Indiana Jones Trilogy, Jurassic Park, Saving Private Ryan, Catch Me If You Can, Munich.
Disliked: E.T., Schindler's List, Minority Report, The Terminal.
Also, most of the others that I haven't seen haven't held much interest for me (A.I., War Of The Worlds).
I'll admit, he is a good director, but he just doesn't make films for me.
Anyway, back to Close Encounters.
Again, I wasn't bowled over by this movie.
I think if I'd seen it as a kid, I may have enjoyed it alot more but being 26, it's just not really for me. Very fantasy based and lacking in nearly every way that Jurassic Park excelled.
I didn't hate this movie, it's just not my type of movie I guess.
I couldn't tell you not to see it.

4. A Short Film About Killing (1988) [ 7 / 10]

Don't know why I wanted to see this movie exactly, it just appealed to me for some reason.
And I like giving foreign movies a try every now and them because I generally enjoy alot of the foreign movies I seek.
It's very slow-moving and depressing throughout, but not really in a bad way.
I don't wanna say too much about this movie, it's best to see this for yourself.
Not that there's a huge twist in the tale, but I think the less you know before seeing this movie the better, other than i'd definitely recommend it.
Not exactly your laugh-a-minute rom-com but a very good movie nonetheless.

5. Existenz (1999) [ 7 / 10]

Ok, here's a weird one.
I saw this movie when it was first released and I remember liking it.
Cronenberg is one of my very favourite directors of all time.
It's not one of Cronenberg's best films by any means, but I do remember liking it.
Maybe just because I love Cronenberg and Jennifer Jason Leigh (mmmm, hottie!!).
So I decided to pull this one off the shelf and take another look.
Even by the 15 minute mark I was bored, irritated and just plained pissed off.
By the end, it wasn't any better.
The acting was terrible, the plot was riduculous, & the directing seemed terrible.
Not what I remembered at all.
(And there's not even a flash of JJ Leigh's titties to redeem it - for shame! ;)
Basically, a bad version of VideoDrome, which if you haven't seen it, is a classic.
(I love James Woods. Debbie Harry can act, and she gets her titties out. So that's all good)
So despite being quite tired and bored after 90 mins of schlock, I had to check out the Director's Commentary, expecting an explanation ffom Cronenberg as to why the film didn't work - you know the usual production problems and budget-cut bullshit that directors run into.
Instead, even within 15 mins again, I had completely changed my view on it.
Cronenberg is another director that I could literally listen to all day.
He's a frigging genius of film-making and his interviews & commentaries are always fantastic, I love the guy.
Basically, he just explained the movie and why things are the way they are in the movie.
I guess you'd have to see the movie and then the commentary to understand so i'd only reccomend this movie for Cronenberg fans who are willing to sit through 3 hours to enjoy it.
Even then, does that make this a good movie.
After watching the movie I'd have given it 4 / 10 but after watching the commentary, I can boost that rating up to 7 / 10.
Decide for yourself if you think it's worth it.

6. Rabid (1977) [ 7 / 10 ]

Another Cronenberg movie to entertain me.
I instantly liked this movie despite going in with a slightly negative attitude.
I'd been told it wasn't his best and it surely wasn't but I found it quite entertaining.
The acting I though was spot on (the lead is Marilyn Chambers - a former porn-star) and even though this was quite similar in certain ways to 'Shivers' which Cronenberg had made just 2 years previously, I found it alot more entertaining.
Unfortunately there's no commentary on this version i had rented, but there is a fantastic 10 minute making-of documentary with Cronenberg, in fascinating form as always.
I might have to pick up the Region 1 DVD:

Ok, since i last blogged, many many years ago, I have:
- left work (at an undisclosed location off the M50),
- completed a DeskTop Publishing course,
- bought a new PC,
- got connected to the internet at home,
& (amongst numerous other things i'm sure)
- registered for ScreenClick, the online DVD rentals company, which will hopefully encourage me to update this blog more frequently.

To start off my ScreenClick expreience, on it's way to me this week are Amelie & Blade Runner.
Gasp!
Yes, i've never seen Blade Runner, sorry world.
You'll see more shocks than that across these green fields over the coming months believe me, so keep posted.

Also to be mentioned, since it relates to the subject of my last blog here all that time ago, is the creation of the musical mayhem (in a good way) that is Concerto For Constantine, the new band formed by Mark Greaney of former JJ72 genius.
I've already seen them live 3 times and they rock.
They are due to release an album this year and along with this will come many more live performances for me to enjoy.

Other than that, there's plenty more i could say at the moment, but i'm a bit lazy currently so i'll leave you with that for the moment.

I'll post back after i see some movies worth reviewing.

JJ72 PRESS RELEASE

After 11 years and two critically acclaimed albums which have sold in excess of 650k worldwide spawning a series of UK and Ireland chart hit singles including Snow, October Swimmer & Oxygen JJ72 have announced they are to split up with immediate effect due to record company issues. Mark Greaney is currently in the studio working on a new project with more details to be announced shortly.

JJ72's body only lies below;
For could the grave JJ's soul comprise,
Earth would be richer than the skies.

JJ72 was born during an Easter many seasons ago; today it dies on the cusp of midsummer eleven years later.

Mark Greaney, Fergal Matthews & Sarah Fox wish to express their deepest and darkest gratitude to all of those with impeccable taste who helped and supported the band.

"We remember everything, from mechanical birds in Japan to angels in arid Arizona, from broken bones and Berlin birthdays to predatory Portsmouth spiders. For those who disliked and perhaps despised (gasp) JJ72, thank you - how did beautiful photographs exist without a negative?!

We crafted two monuments of magnificence for the future aural pleasure and pain of all would be JJ believers and doubters....and for those who care not for the passing of the petulant yet powerful pup....shame on you! JJ72 decided it was the end as it did not want to undermine its achievements by continuing a ridiculous argument with a label that would not be able to support the release and touring of the third JJ opus - a label who lost funding from Sony/BMG some time ago.

Hey all,

Been so busy the last month I haven't had a moment to blog my news.
And there has been much, my brothers.

Firstly was Coolaboola & Madame Lamberno's birthday on the same day,
Thursday 13th April.
Unfortunately, I was in work that day & college in the evening so I did not actually get to celebrate the occasions, but texts & e-mails were sent.

Then it was Philip's 21st drinks on Saturday 14th April.
Good fun was had by all.
Happy Birthday Phil.

Then was Linda's birthday on Monday 17th April so we went out the day before as the Monday was a bank holiday.
Linda's Australian friend Kat was over from Canada where she lives for the occasion (& the week) too.

Also in attendance were: Ciara, Paul, Dearbhla, Lou, Diarmuid, Nikki, Ciara, Daryl, Gav, & some others.
Think Linda has some pictures too. Will grab them at some stage.

After that was Lamberno's 21st drinks in her house, hosted by her very tolerant parents.
So on Saturday 22nd April, we started at about 8pm & only left there at about 4.30am.
Brilliant. I stayed shamefully sober & surprisingly awake for the duration.
Present were: Segnor Dave, The Mortician, Mistress Ciara, Miss Roisin, Monsegnor Mer Nock, Sarah Prenderghastly & numerous others.

It should be noted, out of pure unorganised chaos (due to unreliable buses etc.), that I randomly bumped into the Mark fella of JJ72 in Swords village & talked to him for a few minutes, before heading on to Lamberno's house.

A special thanks should be granted to Dave for letting me use his back as a rest to sign Madame Lamberno's card.

So then on the Sunday, Tony S & Dave arranged to go fishing in Howth.
So I decided to head out with Dave while Tony haad head in a bit before.
So when we got to the DART station, we'd just missed a train & had to wait 20 minutes, in quite hot weather.
So we got into Howth & headed up towards the church to check the mass times. (Dave being the religious type didn't want to miss mass)
Just outside the church we bumped into Tony on his bike, who was on his way home, because he'd been there an hour or 2 at this stage.
So he headed off to drop his fishing rods home & told us he'd come straight back.
So myself & Dave head up the hill, which had a few tourists scattered randomly, & chilled out on a patch of grass at the cliff edge.
So as we're resting on the grass, innocently lying there a few feet apart, we hear noises behind us.
There's 3 foreign speaking people standing there, taking photos of the sea & Ireland's eye.
Then we heard them giggling away & heard them mutter, amongst some foreign ramblings, the words 'Brokeback Mountain'.
So as they walked off, we just looked at each other &, along with us lying there side-by-side, just a few feet apart, we realised that Dave was wearing denim jeans, a denim jacket & a striped jumper. How embarassing!
So then we were walking around, laughing about it & we discovered a couple staring at the side of the path & we asked them what they were looking at & they pointed out a sleeping hedgehog. I've never heard a hedgehog snore. Very interesting.
Kind of short little, breathy grunts & squeaks. Very funny.
So then Tony S arrived back a bit later, & we got a picture of myself & Dave together.

Then The Mortician arrived & we went off to get some grub & drinks, as served by a very cute little ?Polish? blonde with a superb ass.
And myself & the Tonys stayed there drinking as Dave went to mass, like a good Satan spy.
Before we left, we arranged to go camping the following weekend, as it was a bank holiday. (This never happened, as expected)

Skip forward then nearly a week to Friday 28th April for Patrick Freyne & His Bad Intentions supporting The Willard Grant Conspiracy in Crawdaddy.
Great gig as always.
Also present was a very drunk (or possibly drugged), very cute blonde lass who TRIED to talk\stand with myself & John after the others left.
Poor lass was very vulnerable but luckily John was there to prevent me from taking advantage of the situation (girl).
God damn son of a...

Next day,
Saturday 29th April
I headed into town to meet John to watch Daire doing a 3' x 5' replica of Monet's 'Umbrellas' on O'Connell Street by the Spire.
(pictures due)
This was to promote the re-opening of the Hugh Lane Gallery.
We also headed over to see the other 3 artists.
1 at Temple Bar Square (where we bumped into 2 of John's cute rock chick friends for a chat),
A girl called Jill at St. Stephen's Green &,
A very friendly, chatty girl called Catherine at the Central Bank.
So then John had to head off & I walked around town.
Then, on my way back to see how Daire was doing at 5.30, I passed Catherine again & I minded her space for a while.
Then I said goodbye to her & stayed with Daire for a while, & waited for Gav.
After that we went out for drinks in T.P. Smyths.

Ooh, the Hoegaarden
Then Colin popped in & we drank away to our hearts content\anguish.

Next day,
Sunday 30th April
I was out with Dave & The Mortician in Messers Maguires for (a very quiet, due to Tony not telling us in advance about [his]) Tony's birthday.

Next day,
Monday 1st May
I was out with Linda, Ciara & Paul, Martina & Paul & a few other for a charity night at the dogs.

Then Tuesday 2nd May,
Long story alert!!
Myself & Dave left it too late to get tickets for Dresden Dolls supported by Chuzzle, who I wanted to see after we saw him support JJ72 in Cork & Dublin last year.
So I went straight into town from work & waited outside the venue for an hour or so to try to get tickets off people selling them, while Dave got delayed due to the spare wheel falling out from under his car.

While standing outside I saw Aoife & Karla of Fair Verona bringing guitar cases in the stage entrance door.
I thought they were going to do a surprise support slot but unfortunately this didn't happen. (Turns out they were just rehearsing downstairs.)
Didn't get to talk to them as they looked busy & I didn't see them again during the gig. But they've a gig coming up on 25th May in The Village so I'll head to that. They always put on a good show so head along if you're around.

So eventually I managed to get tickets & wandered in alone.
So I went in, saw Chuzzle rocking his socks off as I tapped my foot happily.

Then I came out, still waiting for delayed Dave, & I noticed Julian of Toasted Heretic,
who I'd seen as Patrick Freyne & His Bad Intentions supported them late last year in Dundalk.
So I went up & talked to him briefly & told him I'd send him some photos I'd taken of them on the night.
Will do that later in the week or something.

Then, as I still waited (this all happened in quite a short time so I really wasn't waiting for Dave that long by the way),
Mark & Sarah of JJ72 walked in the door with Sarah's friend Una (who'd I'd met briefly at EP '05 & seemed very friendly) so I said hello to them.
And Sarah wouldn't let me buy them a beer so she insisted on buying me one.
Then, Chuzzle headed out & I said hello to him & told him he rocked.

So a short while after that Dave arrived & then as The Dresden Dolls started we got seperated from Mark, Sarah, Una & Chuzzle.
And I didn't see them again for the rest of the night as I had to head off for some sleep as soon as Dresden Dolls finished up, because I'd had a long few days of being out every night since Friday.
So I still owe Sarah a beer. Noted.

All in all, an amazing night was had.

Added to all this madness over the last month was:

- Another art show where Daire displayed a painting of his own in Liberty Hall,
Which I bloody missed, due to fecking college,

Just a short note to say hi.

- Also, news came in that Ciara & Daryl got engaged.
Ciara used to live down the road from me & is friends with Linda since they were kids.
So congrats to the lovely couple.

Anyway,
I think that's enough news for now.

Just got my RadioHead tickets for August.
Ooooohhh, yeah.
One of my favourite groups & I've never seen them live.

(Obviously the otehr band members will be there too, but this is kind of the coolest picture I could quickly & easily find.)

I've seen JJ72 live lots, & hopefully will be seeing them again this year.
And The Frames are playing Electric Picnic so I'll see them there.

Dear Constant Reader,

Ok so I've been very busy in work recently so I haven't gotten a chance in the last few weeks to blog my equally-busy social life, including:
- My Birthday & drinks out with absolutely bloody everyone,
- Night out on Saturday in Swords,
- Superb Beasley gig last night with support from the equally superb Calico Jak.
Pics & info available soon, when I gets a chance.

But for the moment, here's some quick news.
I got an mp3 player a month or so ago.
A 30Gb iAudio. It's fantastic, & I'm still getting used to it.
But I've just recently found out how to use hte "line-in" feature,
which records music from other devices.
So I'm in the process of digging up my old radio recorded dance tapes from about 10 years ago. I'm rediscovering some great old music I've lost touch with.
Not sure what format it'll record in (hopefully mp3 - for ease of use\sharing).
But 1 of the 1st songs I came across that had been completely forgotten about is

And it's as good as I remember & I remembered the fantastic lyrics instantly as soon as I heard them again.

Sunday & Monday

So Sunday we woke up (still in Bristol), said goodbye to Rach & Co, and myself & DaveR made our way into Bristol city. We went shopping, in the largest Forbidden Planet in the world, which had just opened the previous day. Then we went for breakfast\lunch in the GreenHouse pub & chatted to 2 cute, friendly barmaids, 1 of which turned out to be just 18, but hey... The other cutie offered us a pink umberella (not a sexual innuendo or a cocktail unfortunately) to brace the rain as we left on a brief site-seeing tour of Bristol, with the barmaid's rough directions as a guide. So we saw the new Millenium Square & a cool cathedral.

After we felt we were pissed-on enough, we grabbed a train back to Birmingham.

Later on Sunday, we headed over to Director Eric's apartment, which is a horrible dump outside, apart from being above a lovely pizza place, which we sampled with much delight. But inside, the apartment is lovely. So we played 5 Euro's worth of poker while listening to 'The Average White Band' & 'The Isley Brothers' & other assorted jazz.
(DaveR won!)
Then we left & went back to DaveR's for some kip.
Before I grabbed my plane home on Monday morning which all went well, except from being an hour late.

Oh, & you don't have to take your shoes off in the airport anymore !!

Saturday in Bristol

So Saturday myself & DaveR got a train to Bristol to see Rach.
We got there about 6.30-ish & met all of Rach's mates in the student dorms buildings.
So we (about 15 of us) popped off to the student bar for drinks where we played drinking games.

GBP 1.50 for a double Jack Daniels & Coke. Criminally inexpensive.
Needless to say we were quite happy when, after about 2 hours, I'd had about 6 or 7 drinks. Then we had shots & left to go back to the dorm, a 2 minute walk away, even in a drunken ramble. So we went to the TV room for drinks. Minus Rach & some caring nursing aides [Faith, Katie & Amy] who went back to her room to "re-coup". And DaveR went to the town with Pippin, a friend\tutor of Rach's, for drinks\to chat up the local talent.
Sometime later, Rach had re-couped & I went to her room to chat with Arian (mostly about religion as far as I can recall), then later (no idea what time) DaveR came back & after that we slept til 11am, Sunday.

Birmingham & Bristol - Friday

Ok, Here's the news.

It all started on Thursday, when DaveR text me:
"Hey Kev. What up?
Fancy calling over to mine tomorrow, if you're not up to anything.
We can head out, have a larf.
I'm at.. Birmingham."

So I head over Friday morning Ryanair flight.
(Side note: Personally I wouldn't care if RyanAir hostesses were drunk, just once the pilot & co-pilot's were sane & sober.)
But anyway, so I text DaveR as I'm walking through Birmingham

on my way to his house, to ask him should I head straight to his house or stop for breakfast to waste some time. [He was only off work at 4am that morning or something so I was willing to give him a break.]
Anyway, I get no reply & head to his house anyway, on foot.
I find my way most of the way without any hassle, purely from remembering the last time I was there (October). I only had to stop for directions once.
And on my way I find DaveR running to find a pay phone to call me. The poor lad. (Sorry DaveR !!) Ah well, he seemed to enjoy the jog anyway.

Fast forward a few hours, we decide to head to the Bull Ring (Classy Birmingham shopping centre full of top totty) & DaveR notices Mr. Noel Fielding (Vince Noir of 'The Mighty Boosh' who we're going to see that night - see picture)

So we talk briefly to Mr. Noel & get our picture taken, DaveR gets his notepad autographed, & we wander off to do some shopping, happy that our weekend is off to a great start, & looking forward to seeing the show later.

Fast forward to the show, which we make it just in time for.
In short, the show is great. Absolutely hilarious improv stuff.

But a girl behind us is laughing her ass off way too hard.
A very deep & thunderous attention-seeking laugh.
And after the interval her boyfriend joins in the ridiculously loud laughing.
But myself & DaveR have our 'Might Boosh' t-shirt newly purchased from the merchandise stall in the lobby, & it's a great show so we're happy chappys.

After the show we head to the pub.
(The something & something - will get the name of that later - hopefully DaveR will post it as a comment)
We meet Director Eric & his mate (also can't remember the name), but it was a great night.

And when we leave, we ask a taxi parked outside to bring us home but he refuses us so Eric decides to give him dogs abuse in his Scottish accent;
"You're shiiiite. You're fucking useless. Mooove ooonn!"
All to the tune of some guy sitting outside it, laughing amusedly.

So that's Friday.

Right so,
Here's the story;
There's a newsagents on Abbey St., Dublin called Reynolds.
That, a Spar & 1 other small shop (Food Fare I think it's called) are the only newsagents on Abbey St.
Or at least on the small stretch of Abbey St. near where I get my bus home from town.
I normally go into a shop to get change for the bus, or a Twix bar to snack on to do me until I get home.
And Reynolds is the 1st shop I get to from O'Connell St. so I've made a habit of going in there, rather than one of the others.
Also, subconsciously I suppose, it shares a surname with one of my best friends (maybe they're even related, probably not).
Anyway, the shop-keeps in Reynolds are always very friendly, even when just buying a Twix.
They're a family business, as opposed to the worker bees in Spar, who are mostly Orientals, just there to pay the rent - No offence to them!
It's a small thing to be friendly, but it's nice after you've been tredging through town all day in the busy crowds.
Just last week, a girl walked in while I was there, & as she started to attempt to explain what she wanted in what seemed like broken English & a French accent, he interrupted her with a corteous 'Bonjour', & hence pursued (ensued?) a full conversation "En Francais".
So the guy (manager\owner I think) speaks French!
Fantastic! Not only friendly, but multi-lingual, & very helpful.
Anyway, yesterday I got a craving for a Cuisine De France apple pecan pie (Yum! Drool!), which unfortunately cannot be bought in Reynolds, only in Spar.
So I was forced to betray my regular friendly shop-keeps for a bit of sweet-ass candy.
And, let me assure you, dear reader, as I walked out of the shop, pie in hand, I felt DIRTY!!
To you, Reynolds of Abbey Street, I offer up my sincerest apologies.
Let my bitter sweet tooth never lead me away from a friendly face again.
I pledge to be a better person!

2 Funny True Stories that have happened recently.

1. Garlic Shake:

Was in Birmingham a few weeks ago to visit DaveR.
Had a great time, been meaning to post news, pics etc about it but been lazy.
Anyway, the 2 of us went to the chipper one of the nights to grab some chips to go with the fish we had cooking in the oven.
Got to the chipper, ordered the chips, waited a while.
The chips are served to us after a while & I ask the guy behind the counter for some garlic mayonaisse.
He leans into a cabinet to pick out the garlic from the other sauces, but they're just in small styrofoam tubs & they're not labelled.
To confuse things more, one of them is mayonaisse, & the garlic mayo doesn't have garlic bits in it.
So it's impossible to tell the regular mayo from the garlic mayo.
He opens the lid of one of the tubs, but decides it would be a bit rude to stick his nose in it.
Unsure of what to do, he closes the lid, fumbles around with a few other tubs, then goes back to the first tub he was investigating.
He pick up the tub, shakes it (?) and decides that's garlic mayo.
Myself & Dave stand there looking at each other in puzzlement.
Anyway, we get back to the fish, which we feared would be burnt.
The fish is cooked perfectly,
& the mayo is... garlic.
Legendary!

2. Auto-Response:

One of the girls in the office is away on holidays for a few weeks.
So she set up an auto-response on her email saying,
'I'm not in the office at the moment. Will be back in 2 weeks' etc. etc.
Someone sent her an e-mail.
They got the response, but had obviously gone on holidays after they sent the e-mail & set up an auto-response themselves.
So when they got the response, their e-mail responded with a response.
And so & so one, until 1,300 e-mails later when the email account of girl in the office filled & crashed.
Madness.

Went to cinema with Andy yesterday.
Saw 'Everything Is Illuminated'. Good film.
And haven't seen Andy in ages so it was good to have a chat.
Before I met him, spent some money in Tower Records & Laser (which now has a basement - Did it always?)
Got 'What's Eating Gilbert Grape?' which i've been looking for on DVD for ages.

Anyway, met Andy & went to film.
Got there early so had to sit through the trailers & the obligatory 10 minute long Guinness advert.
I enjoy trailers, but Andy don't (hates to know anything about a film before seeing it!)

Anyway, 'Everything Is Illuminated' was good,
But I'm really falling in love with the trailer for 'Breakfast On Pluto'
Can't wait for it now.
Cillian Murphy is forever crawling higher & higher in my list of favourite actors,
The guy's a god damn genius, in every film he does.

After E-Mailing my mate Dave (REYNOLDS) (spacesapostrophescolonsorslashes.blogspot.com), and realising the lenght of the mail and how interesting (bitchy) it was, i decided to edit it and post it here simply because this really isn't a blogspot at all. A grand total of 1 post since May (2 months ago) seems a tad lame.

So here it is:

Recently been to 2 good gigs;

Friday 15th July 2005:
JJ72 concert in The Village [www.jj72.com] MY FAVOURITE BAND.
with my mate Dave (HUNT) - (not as mentioned above, but much respected all the same).
Great gig but crowd had no atmosphere. Bunch of toffs, half of whom didn't even seem to be watching the gig (after paying €20-ish in). Anyway, good gig. Took a roll of pics (see below). Camera was dying all night so i had to click twice for every pic (very annoying). Got a pic with a guy called Ian (I think that was his name) who sang backing vocals with Chuzzle (who played support) [www.Chuzzle.com]. Got talking to him for a while. Pretty cool guy. Very chatty. Got a free JJ72 record and pin badge too, which an old hippie selling JJ72 t-shirts at the back minded for me during the gig. Fair play.

Special note to some nice, extremely friendly bar maid in The Village.
We're not talking hand-job friendly, but all smiles and enthusuastic "What can I get you?"! Nice gal. We need more of these! Must'n't've (?) been Oirish!

We didn't even know Pat was playing support until we saw it on aposter on the door as we payed in. Pat, it seems, got butterlies and decided not to tell his own band support that he was playing. Poor Pat recovered well though and played a stormer.

Both great nites out anyway.

Doing tons of overtime to feed my drinking habits.

Looking forward to beering somewhere in town tomorrow for Una's birthday. Should be a good laugh. Una is Eoin's little sister. I only got paid today after 1 month of cash drought. So free beers all round, plus it's a bank hol and my mate Tony's bday is Monday so we're going out Sat nite for him too. Big sesh! If anything funtastic happens you might even see another blog after the weekend. Fingers and toes crossed.

I think i'll get a digital camera this weekend! Sick of dragging my lazy ass into town and paying them €15 to develop my pics when only 5 or 10 of the 25 are worth printing. I'd save money fairly quickly by just forking out on a decent digi-cam. Took a full roll of pics at JJ72 concert 2 weeks ago (as mentioned above) and still haven't gotten them developed. Only problem is that if i buy my digi-cam i may not be able to use it at all with my pc because most stuff requires windows updates to use. Like when i tried to transfer the pics i have from my fone to my pc and it won't work because it says i need to install windows updates (service packs), but there's still "a problem with the belcamp exchange" so i can't get broadband at all, and i don't want to go back to paying for slow internet. Load of wanks and gees!!! So, anyway, if i spend money on a digi-cam and it don't work i'll be fairly pissed off.

Moan, moan, moan.

In other news, my old work place went into liquidation last week. Yipee!
BOLLOX TO YOU, MOULDPRO !!!
So i'll be drinking to that too. Scum, sub-human scum.
