RadioHead
.
Just got my RadioHead tickets for August.
Ooooohhh, yeah.
One of my favourite groups & I've never seen them live.

(Obviously the otehr band members will be there too, but this is kind of the coolest picture I could quickly & easily find.)
I've seen JJ72 live lots, & hopefully will be seeing them again this year.
And The Frames are playing Electric Picnic so I'll see them there.
So just gotta see Muse sometime & I'll be tres happy.
Happy Friday everybody.

The Ballad of Jack Spratt Unabridged 2006 continued
.
Jack's wife died,
She died of the clap,
Because Dirty Andy,
Wasn't wearing a rubber hat.
They got down & dirty,
When Andy got flirty,
Coz he likes 'em big,
And she was a bit of a pig.
Andy's still going,
But just about,
He's looking ill,
And his health is in doubt.
Jack & his teen,
Were getting on well.
But they had an unexpected accident,
And she's staring to swell.
And we all know Jack,
He don't like 'em obese.
So Andy'll be in again soon,
To grab a piece.

Jack Spratt would eat no fat,
His wife would eat no lean.
So when Jack's wife became obese,
Jack ran off with a fit, young teen.

Out of order
Q. Why is this thing not working?
I didn't do anything to it since Friday, & it was working then.
Hopefully, it'll sort itself out.
If not, maybe I can e-mail the people who run this site or something.
Anyway,
Hope everyone had a good St. Patrick's Day.
I did.
Was good to see DaveR back home again.
Was drinking Hoegaarden, which I hadn't had in ages.
Lovely stuff.
Enjoy your Monday,
& your week.
Talk soon.

Finally
.
Finally, for the moment.
I'll be spending Paddy's night (Friday) at a house party in Swords because town on Paddy's day is disastrous.
And Dave's coming back for Paddy's weekend so I'll see him Saturday.
Coolaboola.
So there'll be more pics Monday probably.
Also, check out the Delays for some great music.
Heard their song 'Lost In A Melody' ages ago & loved it, but completely forgot about it until I was recommended them by a girl on the JJ72 forums.
So I checked out their new album for free here:
'You See Colours'
Then I heard 'Lost In A Melody' again on their MySpace & remembered how good it was.
I reckon I'll pick up their albums this weekend.
For now, tho.
Over & out.

One of the best birthday presents I've ever gotten.
Thanks man.

Beasley pics
.
So the main act of the night came from Beasley.
And a fantastic climax it was.
Una (lead vocals, lead guitar),
Dara (bass guitar, backing vocals)
& Aoife (drums)
rocked the place thoroughly.
Hope to see tons more of their gigs this year.
Brilliant gig. Well done. Keep it up.

Beasley \ Calico Jak Gig
.
So then Sunday night was the Beasley gig in Slattery's,
with support from Calico Jak.
Follow the MySpace link, click the friends link & choose 'Beasley' or 'Calico Jak' to hear some music from the night.
The 1st support act was Jack Crawley of 'Patrick Freyne & His Bad Intentions',
but we were sitting near the back for his performance so I didn't get pics unfortunately.
Anyway, here's some pics:
Eoin & John performing a cover of the Patrick Freyne & His Bad Intentions classic 'Feels So Strange' dedicated to Sarah. Aaaawww!

Eoin & John performing 'Vampire Love:

Dedicated to myself, because Eoin hadn't played it live last time I'd seen him live, & it's a fecking fantastic song. Thanks Eoin.
Eoin rocking out some more:

Swords
.
So just last Saturday:
Myself, Dave & Tony went to Swords to meet the crazy Swords chicks.
And more fun was had by all.

From these pics, it may look like it was just a few quiet drinks, with a small group of friends, but there was actually lots out. I just wasn't so snap happy.
Think some other people took pics too so if they stick them up somewhere, I'll link them. All good fun tho.

Busy busy busy
Dear Constant Reader,
Ok so I've been very busy in work recently so I haven't gotten a chance in the last few weeks to blog my equally-busy social life, including:
- My Birthday & drinks out with absolutely bloody everyone,
- Night out on Saturday in Swords,
- Superb Beasley gig last night with support from the equally superb Calico Jak.
Pics & info available soon, when I gets a chance.
But for the moment, here's some quick news.
I got an mp3 player a month or so ago.
A 30Gb iAudio. It's fantastic, & I'm still getting used to it.
But I've just recently found out how to use hte "line-in" feature,
which records music from other devices.
So I'm in the process of digging up my old radio recorded dance tapes from about 10 years ago. I'm rediscovering some great old music I've lost touch with.
Not sure what format it'll record in (hopefully mp3 - for ease of use\sharing).
But 1 of the 1st songs I came across that had been completely forgotten about is
LionRock 'Packet Of Peace'.
And it's as good as I remember & I remembered the fantastic lyrics instantly as soon as I heard them again.
So here's the lyrics in full:
LionRock - 'Packet Of Peace'
The bottles are all empty; the potion’s gone
Powers promised like the dawn
It just won't carry on
I leave the empties on the doorstep to be filled by time
Is he a wizard or a teacher? Is she a friend of mine?
I left a note and signed with haste
“Give me a packet of peace to taste
And if you're willing, an extra crate
Of any power to combat hate”
Cause though I heard that hate brings pain
And I need love to take the strain
A parcel of extra blessing
To keep my days from guessing
Oh teach me, the words won't turn the way I ask them
Oh reach me, show faces true before I pass them
And all the world is out of key
And it shrinks inside me
So many faces to be friends
When all the madness ends
I'll leave my mind beneath the mat
So you can let yourself in
If you can stand the mess then stay
But I'm not entertaining
I feel the richness of our days
Are like smoke to hold
I'd make a paper heart to love you
If I knew where to fold
But I must sit and just keep trying
Until I see the shape I seek
Because I must learn to sculpt the strength
For everyday that I'm weak
Oh teach me, the storms won't turn the way we aim them
Oh reach me, the dreams grow wild before we tame them
Fantastic.
Anyway, real feckin' busy.
Looks like I'll be working Paddy's day at this rate.
So will post birthday pics later in the week or something.
'Til tehn. Stay safe & have fun.
